This site serves as an introduction to the types of imaging that will be useful in your clinical rotations. As you review the cases, you should focus on the following tasks:

1) recognize each type of imaging, and what physical property is used to generate the image

2) describe which use ionizing radiation and which do not

3) list specific technical factors that are important for each type of imaging

4) know proper terminology to describe WHITE and BLACK areas on each type of imaging

5) list several general types of disease that are best displayed by each type of imaging

6) list one type of disease that is not well demonstrated by each type of imaging

7) describe an online resource that can be used to help in selecting appropriate imaging for your patients based on scientific evidence.
