The movie clip shows a fetal heartbeat in the cystic structure adjacent to the left ovary. This is an ectopic pregnancy, which requires immediate medical or surgical treatment. Image B shows the uterus with no evidence of an intrauterine pregnancy. The patient had a positive pregnancy test. In such patients the most important finding is absence of an intrauterine pregnancy, even if the actual ectopic cannot be found! The presumption is that if the pregnancy is NOT seen in the uterus, it is ectopic!!
